Substance and behavioral addiction profoundly impact lives.
Freedom from the suffering of addiction is possible one day at a time.
I assist individuals who seek both physical and emotional sobriety. I strive to serve as support to deepen the powerful process of recovery. Spirituality forms the foundation of the treatment modalities and mental health counseling I offer. I have training and experience in providing chemical dependency treatment in agency settings, as well as in my practice. I have counseled individuals contemplating sobriety, those who are seeking treatment, newly sober individuals, and individuals with long-term recovery. I am well versed in several spiritual recovery methods, trauma-informed healing modalities, and provide a personalized synthesis of psychotherapy and sobriety focused skill-building.
My clients engage in the powerful experience of looking deeply within themselves in order to reconnect with their own spiritual source.
Sobriety is established and sustained through the connection with fellow recovering peers. Due to the challenging and complex nature of substance use disorders and behavioral addictions, my treatment recommendations may include your participation in adjunct healing modalities. For some, this may mean additional substance use disorder treatment, medication management, community peer support, like Alcoholics Anonymous or Refuge Recovery, or general wellness care. I believe a recovery plan that addresses healing of the body, mind and spirit to be most effective. My goal is to assist you in accessing support for these equally important and interrelated aspects of health.
Through this journey of reconnection, my clients are better able to release self-destructive thought and behavior patterns. The fruits of these practices are sanity, authenticity and peace.
Co-occurring Integrated Treatment
Co-occurring Disorders, also referred to as dual-diagnoses, arise in many individuals who have experienced emotional trauma. The wounding of trauma generates suffering in various forms, including mental health conditions, substance use disorders and behavioral compulsions. I help support my patients in the creation of a holistic self-care plan, which often includes a network of health care providers and support groups.
We need help and support from safe others to manage the impacts of trauma. Without this caring help, from professionals and supportive peers, healing is nearly impossible. Everyone needs support and connection.
Some of us need help in learning how to both establish and receive trauma-informed care.
Individuals coping with dual-diagnoses do best when grounded in a stable, safe, effective therapeutic relationship. With therapy as the foundation, healthy commitments can be more easily made to sobriety and recovery processes, accessing and following through with needed medical care from physicians and prescribers, and cultivating self-compassion through mindfulness practices.
Our treatment process will be multifaceted, holistic and comprehensive.
