Spiritual Direction
“We realize that in the Divine alone can we reach the satisfaction of our aspirations.” Jim Galluzo
Spiritual direction is the practice of "Being." My aspiration for you as my directee is to create connection with you, while you deepen your relationship with the Divine, and support learning and growing in your own unique, personal spirituality. During our time together, you may choose to share stories of your beliefs, experiences and encounters with the Divine, and/or how you are cultivating a life attuned to the spiritual dimension of reality. I will listen and asks questions to assist you in your process of reflection and spiritual growth. Spiritual direction seeks, amongst other aims, to assist you to develop a deeper awareness of the spiritual aspect of your humanity.
A few examples of questions we might contemplate together in spiritual direction:
In your daily life, do you find your spiritual practices infused with story or myth? Do you experience mystery, wonder, and delight in any moments of your day? If so, when? Does your spiritual practice involve worshiping a teacher? Do you consider yourself a follower of any particular faith? Do you gravitate towards discipleship of a spiritual path in anyway? Please describe your practice and relationship with a teacher, or set of principles.
Do you find yourself thinking about your teacher, or the teachings you practice, before making decisions? Do you have any ritual that helps you to feel guided?
Is community a part of your spiritual practice? Do you connect with others in learning about spiritual teaching and tradition? Is it important for you to be with other people, or in a group, in order to experience something greater than yourself?
How do you practice ritual in your daily life?
How do you conceptualize spirituality? What does this mean to you?How would you describe “God” to someone who had never known it? What does this word mean to you?
Do you practice cultivating gratitude in your daily life? If so, how?
Potential outcomes of spiritual direction:
Greater reverence for the Divine within
Less attachment to the world
Feeling One in Spirit with the Divine
Continual sense of the divines presence and companionship Experience of profound peacefulness
Great uniform love for the Divine and other people
